‘Classic tunes, beautifully done’ The Guardian

‘…in a different league…‘ The Sun

‘Smouldering, mesmerising & magical…’ Evening Standard

David is possibly best known for his various music collaborations in particular the very popular McAlmont and Butler and his work with David Arnold. The mere mention of his name – David McAlmont – gets the UK music scene, from fellow artists and musicians to press and industry types alike reaching for the thesaurus in search of ever more extravagant superlatives.

So what’s all the fuss about? It has perhaps best been summed up by a Guardian critic, who recently wrote: David has worked with many of the UK’s most well-known and best loved figures; Bernard Butler (2 top 10 albums and 3 hit singles), Courtney Pine, Craig Armstrong, Jools Holland and Terence Blanchard have at some point in their remarkable careers all chosen to feature him as a vocalist, often on their renditions of classic songs. And following their high voltage rendition of ‘Diamonds Are Forever’, David McAlmont and David Arnold most recently recorded a version of ‘Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas’ for Mojo magazine, a rendition that prompted Mojo to refer to David as one of the great British singers. With his magnificent three and a half octave vocal range, a beautifully exotic and deeply individual voice, McAlmont has put his own indelible mark on songs from the likes of Cole Porter, Michael Masser, Sammy Fain, Paul Webster and Sonny Burke.
